In the space of a week, the market capitalization of Dhaka Stock Exchange-DSE, the main capital market of the country, has decreased by Tk 7 thousand crores. The index and most of the shares also fell, although the average daily turnover increased slightly.
Capital market analysts say that the rise in prices is a general picture of the market. Instead of worrying, focus should be given to increase confidence and investment.
After being slightly upward for a week, the country's stock market fell again. Investors saw declines in four of the five trading days last week. As a result, the prices of shares and units of most of the companies participating in the transaction decreased throughout the week.
Market analysis showed that the market capitalization decreased by one percent compared to the previous week. The market which started at 6 lakh 99 thousand 581 crores on the first working day of the week stood at 6 lakh 92 thousand 431 crores at the end of the week. However, the average daily transaction has increased by one quarter to 3 thousand 994 crores. During the week, the transaction increased by Tk 824 crore.
The former senior vice-president of DSE Brokers Association (DBA), the organization of capital market brokers. Sajedul Islam said, the index will increase, it will decrease and the capital will increase and decrease, this is basically the market. It's nothing to worry about. If there is no leakage in the current market then the market will be better from here. The message to investors is to never invest in garbage. Then the fear of losing capital will be reduced.
The DSE index was also in a downward trend during the week. The main index DSEX decreased by 76 points to 5 thousand 728 points. It was down more than 100 percent from the previous week. The total number of stocks and mutual funds traded on DSE during the week was 395. The share price of 76 companies increased, 311 companies decreased and 8 companies were unchanged.
Md. Sajedul Islam also said that the market was losing confidence not only because of our own but also because of external reasons. If reserves increase, if interest rates fall to what they are now, if inflation decreases, confidence in the market will increase and investors will come.
Shares of various banks were at the top in sector-wise transactions. 17 and a half percent of the total transactions were occupied by this sector.
