Former IGP Mamun in 8 days remand


The court has granted 8-day remand to former Inspector General of Police (IGP) Abdullah Al Mamun, who was arrested in the case of shooting and killing grocery shopkeeper Abu Saeed in Mohammadpur during the anti-discrimination movement.

On Wednesday (September 4), he was brought to court at 6:45 a.m. At that time, the police applied to remand him for ten days for proper investigation of the case. After the hearing, Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Aktaruzzaman gave this order.

Earlier on Tuesday (August 3) law enforcement forces arrested Abdullah Al Mamun from Uttara.

Dhaka Metropolitan Police Chief (Additional Commissioner) Rezaul Karim Mallik confirmed the arrest. There are multiple cases against the former IGP.
