Fugitive Khatib of Baitul Mokarram in Gopalganj

Fugitive National Mosque Baitul Mukarram Khatib Mufti Maulana Mohammad Ruhul Amin is said to be staying in Gopalganj. He is on the run after the fall of the Awami government. He did not come to the mosque after July 26.

Khatib Mufti Ruhul Amin of National Mosque Baitul Mukarram is in Gopalganj. On March 31, 2022, Maulana Mohammad Ruhul Amin was appointed as Khatib of National Mosque Baitul Mukarram. He also wanted nomination of Awami League from Narail-1 seat in 2018 election.

Mufti Maulana Mohammad Ruhul Amin is the Director General of Gopalganj Gohardanga Madrasah. He could not be contacted. However, the madrasa teacher and Khatib's close friend, who did not wish to be named, said that Mufti Ruhul Amin is very ill, he is now staying in Gopalganj.

Incidentally, after the fall of the government on August 5, since Mufti Ruhul Amin Khatib did not come to fulfill his duties, the Islamic Foundation assigned 4 people, including two government officials, to lead the Friday prayers of the National Mosque. At the same time, a notice was given to him on August 29 asking to know the reason for his absence at work. The notice gives 7 days to know why no action will be taken against him. The deadline for which ended on September 5. But there was no response from Khatib. Even last Friday (September 6) he did not come to Friday prayers.
