Eid-ul-Fitr is the biggest religious festival of the Muslim community today. The Muslim community will celebrate Eid on Thursday (April 11) after 30 days of fasting.

The moon of the holy month of Shawwal of 1445 Hijri was not seen anywhere in the country on Tuesday. As a result, the holy Eid-ul-Fitr will be celebrated across the country on Thursday. This decision was taken at the meeting of the National Moon Sighting Committee at East Sahan of Baitul Mukarram National Mosque on Tuesday evening. It was presided over by the Minister of Religion. Shayla Sharmeen, assistant public relations officer of Islamic Foundation, said that according to the rule, if the moon of Shawwal month is seen on 29 Ramadan, Eid-ul-Fitr is celebrated the next day. But if the moon is not seen on this day, 30 days of fasting must be observed and Eid-ul-Fitr is celebrated on the day after 30 days of fasting. He said that there will be no need for a Moon Sighting Committee meeting today.

Muslims across the country will celebrate their biggest religious festival Eid-ul-Fitr on this day with due religious solemnity and great enthusiasm, joy and enthusiasm. The devout Muslims are preparing for Eid prayers in congregation after fasting for a whole month during the holy month of Ramadan. Preparations for Eid Jamaat have already been completed by public and private initiatives across the country including the capital.

This time, under the management of Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC), the main Eid congregation will be held at Jatiya Eidgah Maidan at 8:30 am. If this congregation is not possible due to adverse weather or any other unavoidable reason, the main Eid congregation will be held at National Mosque Baitul Mukarram at 9 am.

Khatib Hafez Maulana Mufti Mohammad Ruhul Amin of Baitul Mukarram National Mosque and Muezzin Qari Muhammad Habibur Rahman of Baitul Mukarram National Mosque will officiate as Mokabbir in the main Eid congregation.

Keeping in mind the hostile weather, all the arrangements for the main Eid congregational events have already been completed.

Mayor of Dhaka South City Corporation Barrister Sheikh Fazle Noor Tapas has wished the people of Dhaka on Eid. He urged everyone to participate in the main gathering of Eid along with other family members.

A separate system has been kept for women in the main congregation of Eid. 35,000 worshipers can pray together in the main pandal of 25,400 square meters.

Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Commissioner Habibur Rahman said that 5 levels of security measures have been taken in order to ensure smooth movement and smooth Eid congregation in the capital including the National Eidgah.

The President, judges, members of the Council of Ministers, diplomats of the Muslim world are expected to offer Eid prayers at the National Eidgah. Separate prayers have also been arranged for women in the Eidgah.

On the occasion of the holy Eid-ul-Fitr, the official holiday has started from Wednesday. National flags will be hoisted at all government, semi-government buildings, autonomous institutions, private buildings and armed forces installations and banners emblazoned with the national flag and 'Eid Mubarak' will be displayed at important traffic islands and light posts in the metropolis. On the night before Eid-ul-Fitr, important buildings including government buildings will be illuminated.

Heads of departments or districts, upazilas, city corporations, municipalities, armed forces departments and non-governmental organizations across the country will celebrate Eid-ul-Fitr by enacting their own programs in the light of the national program. Also, Bangladesh Television, Bangladesh Radio and private media will broadcast special programs with due importance and publish special issues in newspapers.

On the occasion of Eid celebration, arrangements have been made to serve high-quality food in all hospitals, prisons, government children's homes, old-age homes, orphanages, socially handicapped centers, asylum centers, safe homes, vagabond welfare centers, destitute welfare centers and drug addiction treatment centers in the country.

Bangladesh embassies and missions abroad will celebrate Eid-ul-Fitr appropriately. On this occasion, special measures have been taken to maintain law and order situation in the whole country.

On the day of Eid, underprivileged children have been provided entry and entertainment in all children's parks under the jurisdiction of Dhaka South City Corporation and North City Corporation without tickets.

On the day of Eid, underprivileged children have been given tickets to visit the museum, Ahsan Manzil, Lalbagh Fort and other places of interest and show them. Besides, Eid reunion program for children has been organized in Bangladesh Shishu Academy.

Meanwhile, like every year, 5 Eid congregations will be held at National Mosque Baitul Mukarram.

According to a press release of the Islamic Foundation, the first congregation will be held at Baitul Mukarram National Mosque at 7 am, followed by the last Eid congregation at 8 am, 9 am, 10 am and quarter to 11 am.

According to a press release of the National Parliament, the holy Eid-ul-Fitr congregation will be held at 8:30 in the morning at the South Plaza of the Parliament. The Chief Whip of the National Assembly, the whips, the members of the Cabinet, the members of the Parliament and the officers and employees of the Parliament Secretariat will participate in this Jamaat. This year, two congregations of the holy Eid-ul-Fitr will be held at Dhaka University Central Mosque, Masjidul Jami'a. The first Eid congregation will be held at 8 am and the second congregation will be held at 9 am.

Preparations for the country's largest Eid Jamaat have been completed at Sholakia Ground in Kishoreganj. This will be the 197th Jamaat of Eid-ul-Fitr as the first Jamaat was held in 1828. Security arrangements have been given top priority to ensure smooth congregation. Law and order forces will work to ensure four levels of security for worshippers.

Chairman of Bangladesh Islahul Muslim Parishad Maulana Farid Uddin Masood will lead the Eid congregation which started at 10 am. More than 300,000 Muslims pray in congregation at the same time.
