Ban water is coming down from different areas. There has been some improvement in the flood situation of Feni. However, except Feni Sadar, the rest of the upazilas are still under water. All these areas are still without electricity and mobile network. As the water started to recede, many people rented boats and went out to look for their relatives.
Comilla has also seen some improvement in the flood situation. And most of the people of Moulvibazar and Habiganj have returned home from the shelter. Meanwhile, water is rising again in Noakhali due to intermittent rain since 10 pm yesterday. Besides, flood water of Feni has also put pressure on this district. According to the government, about 20 lakh people in the district are watertight.
Meanwhile, since Friday, the flood water of Noakhali has been entering Lakshmipur in various ways including Rahmatkhali and canals. In this, the people of some wards of Lakshmipur municipality and most of the areas of the unions in the eastern region have become waterlogged.
Mehdi Hasan, sub-divisional engineer of the flood forecasting center, said that the water in the rivers and streams of various areas, including Feni-Comilla, is decreasing. Even moderate rains are unlikely to increase.
He also said that the water in the rivers has started decreasing towards Sylhet and Moulvibazar. This is improving the flood situation.
