In March, remittances reached 181 million dollars


Like every year, this year too, in the month of Ramadan, remittances and expatriate incomes increase compared to normal times. In the first 29 days of this month of March, 181.51 million USD remittances came through legal or banking channels. According to that, an average of 6 crore 25 lakh dollars remittance is coming every day. In domestic currency (110 taka per dollar) which amounts to 19 thousand 966 crore taka.

This information is known from the updated report published by the central bank on Sunday (March 31).

After reviewing the data of the Central Bank, it was found that in the first 29 days of this March, remittances reached 181 million 51 million US dollars. Out of this, 227.5 million dollars came through state-owned banks, 33.3 million dollars through a specialized bank, 1.54 billion 98 million dollars came through private banks and 7.433 million dollars came through foreign banks.

In the first month of this year, in January, remittances came to the country of 210 million US dollars and in February, 216 million 60 million US dollars came.

In the last month of December 2023, expatriates sent remittances of 199 million dollars. Remittances received in January 2023 were $195.88 million, February $156 million, March $202 million, April $168 million, May $169 million, June $220 million, July $197 million, August $159 million, August $133 million, October 197 million. Crores, November 193 crore remittances have arrived.

In the last financial year 2022-23, the total remittance received was 2 thousand 161 crore 7 lakh US dollars. In the previous financial year 2021-2022, the total remittance came to 2 thousand 103 crore 17 lakh US dollars. In the financial year 2020-21, the remittance came to 2 thousand 477 crore 77 million US dollars. Which is the maximum remittance amount.
