Vice President Kamala Harris has taken a significant lead over former President Donald Trump in three key battleground states, according to a latest poll.
The poll shows Harris leading Trump by more than the margin of error in three of seven competitive states in the 2024 election: Michigan (51 percent to 44 percent), Wisconsin (50 percent to 44 percent) and Nevada (48 percent to 44 percent).
This latest poll, conducted between August 6 and 16 by Focaldata surveyed 651 likely voters across the seven states. It had a margin of error of +/- 3.7 to 3.8 percent.
Trump had previously been leading President Joe Biden in all seven of the swing states: Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Michigan, Nevada, Georgia, North Carolina, and Arizona. Before Biden quit the 2024 race for the White House, Trump had also made gains in traditionally more Democratic-leaning states like Minnesota, New Hampshire, and Virginia.
Harris has turned that tide since became the presumptive Democratic nominee in July, polling suggests.
The latest Focaldata poll suggests Harris holds a narrow advantage within the margin of error in Pennsylvania (48 percent to 47 percent) and North Carolina (47 percent to 46 percent).
Trump maintains a lead beyond the margin of error in Georgia (49 percent to 45 percent), and in within the margin in Arizona (46 percent to 45 percent).
