Murder case in the name of 40 people including former MP in Ashulia

Former Member of Parliament for Dhaka-19 Constituency Muhammad Saiful Islam, President of Ashulia Thana Awami League Farooq Hasan Tuhin, Chairman of Ashulia Union Parishad Shahab Uddin in connection with the beating and shooting of a student named Al-Sabur (15) in Savar's Ashulia on August 5 during the anti-discrimination student movement. Madbar, Yarpur UP Chairman Shamim Ahmed Sumon Bhuiya and his sister Jamai Rubel Ahmed Bhuiya alias Jamai Rubel, including 40 people have been registered as accused in a murder case.

On Monday morning, Ashulia Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) AFM Syed confirmed the case. The mother of the student killed earlier on Sunday night. Rahen Jannat Ferdausi filed a murder case with Ashulia police station as the plaintiff.

The deceased Al-Sabur (16) is the son of Enaf Nayed alias Zakir of Mahadevpur village under Mahadevpur police station of Naogaon district. He used to study in class 10 of the local Shaheen School from a rented house in Ashulia's Jamgara Shimultala area with his family.

According to the statement of the case, Al-Sabur went to Bipil to participate in the anti-discrimination student movement on August 5 at around 9:30 am. Al-Sabur was contacted by his mother until three in the afternoon. But since then his mother could not contact him.

He did not return home that night. The next day, his family found Al-Sabur's mutilated and charred body at Bypile. Later, his family took his body to the village house and completed the funeral and burial.

It is also said in the statement that later on, the family of the victim came to know that around 3:30 pm on August 5, 1 to 1,500 protestors took a position on the bypiles in the anti-discrimination student movement.

At that time, unknown accused including terrorists of Awami League and its organ organization beat up and shot whoever they found in front of them including natives and agitators with firearms. When Al-Sabur was caught by the accused while running away, they beat him with sticks and shot him and set him on fire. Ita al-Sabur died on the spot.

The other accused in the case are Ashulia Thana Jubo League convener Kabir Hossain Sarkar, Dhaka Zilla Parishad member Enamul Haque Munshi, Shakil Munshi, Abul Bhuiya, Saiful Islam Rana and Masum Munshi of Ashulia, Sadek Bhuiyan and Ashraf of Vadail, Saiful Islam Bepari Hiku and Raju of Jirabo area. Dewan, Mujibur Rahman alias Chura Mujibur of Ghoshbagh, Mosharraf Hossain Musa and Hasan Kabir of Yarpur.

Also Kavya Bhuiyan of Jamgara, Alam Bhuiyan, Farooq Bhuiyan, Bashir Bhuiyan, Milan Mir, Sunny Bhuiyan, Idris Ali, Talhat Bhuiyan, Safar Sheikh, and Ujjal Bhuiyan, Arif Madbar and Farid Mandal of Gorat, Shahadat Munsi of Tongabari, Hela Madbar, Imtiaz Dewan, Saidur Rahman Samrat, Yachin Arafat Pappu and Ashraf Uddin Madbar, Sabed Ali of Bagabari, Yakub Madbar of Changgaon, Khalil Pradhan of Chitrashail, Sheikh Shah Jalal Shaon of Narsinghpur and many others are unidentified.

Ashulia Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) AFM Syed said, a murder case has been registered in view of the written complaint. Further legal action will be taken after investigation. Efforts are on to arrest the accused.
