NASCAR Cup Series driver Tyler Reddick dedicated his FireKeepers Casino 400 victory to the late Scott Bloomquist, a legendary figure in the motorsports community who tragically passed away in an aircraft crash just days before the race at Michigan International Speedway.

Reddick, who secured his second win of the season after a rain-delayed and crash-laden race, paid his heartfelt tribute during his post-race interview in victory lane. He commented:

“I can’t help but sit here in victory lane and think of Scott Bloomquist. Huge mentor to me and an incredible role model and legend of dirt racing and motorsports. The last couple of days have been tough, and this really helps it.

“So this win, I think, should go for him and his family and friends, and all that meant a lot to him.”

Bloomquist left behind a legacy marked by nine national titles and over 600 career wins, with his final victory recorded at Thunder Mountain Speedway in 2020.

“Known for his relentless innovation, Bloomquist was instrumental in advancing the dirt Late Model industry. Brian Carter, CEO of World Racing Group, praised Bloomquist’s enduring contributions, stating, as quoted by World Of Outlaws:

“Scott Bloomquist’s legendary status not only grew out of his accomplishments on track, but his innovations throughout the dirt Late Model industry,” World Racing Group CEO Brian Carter said.
