Owner Puts Great Dane’s Ball in His Pocket—Dog’s Reaction Is Priceless

A Great Dane puppy was spotted causing mischief as he tried to play tug of war with his owner’s shorts while he was wearing them during a walk.

After taking her 6-month-old puppy to the dog park, Lisa Maxine Clancy captured the hilarious moment when Bruce began chewing his dad’s shorts as they made their way down a busy street. She couldn’t resist sharing it on TikTok (@sirbrucee), much to the delight of social media users, and the clip has already gained over 455,000 views and more than 21,000 likes so far.

Clancy, of Toronto, Canada, told Newsweek that, when they finished up at the park, her partner, Brock Clancy, put Bruce’s ball in his pocket. But the Great Dane pup wasn’t too happy about that as he “wanted to keep playing.” Rather than accepting that playtime was over, Bruce decided to take matters into his own paws and tried to retrieve the ball himself by chewing through the shorts.

“At the time, I thought it was so funny, I couldn’t breathe. But I was also a little bit worried about his new Lululemon shorts I’d just got him,” Clancy said.

“It was just a simple moment in time where I was laughing so hard, I couldn’t contain myself. I’m so happy the video could bring people a few moments of joy in their day.”

Great Danes can be rather docile at times, but in their younger years, they will have plenty of energy to expend. The American Kennel Club (AKC) recommends giving them two or three brisk walks a day, depending on their age. Once they are fully developed (from around 2 years old), they can even make good companions during hikes or jogs, too.

When fully grown, a Great Dane can reach up to 32 inches tall at their shoulder and weigh up to 175 pounds, according to the AKC. They are renowned for their imposing and impressive stature, as much smaller breeds pale in comparison.

Needless to say, Brock’s shorts are now ruined, and he is on the lookout for a replacement pair. But, next time, he certainly won’t be putting the ball in his pocket when he is around Bruce.

Since sharing the clip on social media, Clancy has been amazed by the positive reaction it has received. She said that she had no idea her giant puppy would have “the internet going wild.”

TikTok users just can’t get enough of Bruce’s antics, leading Clancy to share many more clips of his cheekiness.

“The internet fell in love with the two of them. I had no idea this would happen,” Clancy told Newsweek.

Among the comments on the viral video, many TikTok viewers lauded Bruce’s hilarious behavior, as one comment reads: “Eat my shorts, or whatever Bart said.”

Another wrote: “My dog did this as a puppy too. She was overwhelmed and needed something to calm down. I lost so many clothes while I trained her.”

However, many others were sidetracked by Brock in the video, as one commenter responded: “Pooch is cute but his calves are the real show.”
