The Inspector General of Police (IGP) asked for the cooperation of the people related to the anti-discrimination student movement and the people of different classes and professions in the safety of the people including the minority community. The coordinators of the anti-discrimination student movement paid a courtesy call on the IGP at the police headquarters on Monday afternoon. Meanwhile, the student leaders complained that miscreants have vandalized the houses of the minority community and attacked them in some places like Thakurgaon, Dinajpur, Panchagarh, Jessore along the border of the country.
At that time, the IGP said that the police headquarters has already given necessary instructions to the concerned units to investigate every incident of attack on minorities with due importance. Appropriate directions have also been issued to arrest the criminals involved in such heinous activities and take necessary legal action and ensure the protection of the victims and their families.
The IGP said that if there is any violation of the overall security of the people, including the minority community, he has requested everyone to immediately file a complaint with the concerned police station.
