Prices of vegetables and eggs have increased

The price of most vegetables has gone up by Rs.20. Rain is being cited as the reason for the increase in prices. And due to the supply shortage, the price of eggs has increased by five rupees per dozen. However, other daily commodities remain at the previous increased prices.

Two or three days after the caretaker government took over, there was some relief in the commodity market. But that relief didn't last long. The prices of products are increasing due to various reasons. Such is the price of vegetables. Due to the rain, the price of all kinds of vegetables has increased up to 20 rupees in a day. And each kg of raw pepper is being sold at Tk 280.

The sellers say that papaya is being sold at 40 taka, bitter gourd at 80 taka, brinjal – 100-120 taka, radish 60 taka per kg, cockle 80 taka, cucumber 40, potal 50, carrot and tomato – 150 taka, gourd at 80 taka a piece.

The buyer said that the price of nothing has decreased. Everything is expensive in the market. There is no price in the market that poor people can buy and eat.

Meanwhile, the price of eggs was fixed at 1045 taka a few months ago, but the price of a dozen has increased up to 10 taka in a span of two days due to the flood. Besides, the prices of potatoes and onions have been high for a long time. However, in the space of a week, five per kg potato and onion reduced up to 10 taka.

Other daily commodities are being sold at the previous increased price. Also, relief has not yet come to the rice market.

Buyers say that if the syndicates and manipulations created during the previous government are not stopped, the sigh will continue to be long in the market.

The rice seller said, to control the rice market, it should be coordinated. If mills can be controlled then prices in the wholesale market will not be affected.
