Pratap Nagar Assistant Commissioner of Police Anil Kumar said that the girl left the house angrily after hearing her mother's scolding last Sunday evening. Her family searched for her at various places, but could not find their daughter and filed a missing person's diary at Surasagar police station on Monday.

According to police sources, the two young men approached the girl after finding her alone in the hospital premises. They talked to him and took him to a secluded spot behind the hospital's biomedical waste dumpyard where they committed the crime.

Police found the girl near the hospital on Monday evening and informed her family. Later the victim herself told her parents and the police about the whole incident.

According to the police, the investigation has started after the medical examination of the girl. A forensic team collected evidence from the crime scene within the hospital premises on Tuesday morning and formed a team to arrest the suspects.

Hospital Super Dr. Fatahsingh Bhati said the police have not yet formally informed them about the suspects, but an internal investigation has revealed that one of the accused was previously employed at the hospital on contract basis.

He said hospital staff have been instructed to look for any lack of lighting around the scene and security measures are being stepped up with additional lighting.
