Rumor spreaders should be punished

The freedom fighter's children have demanded the punishment of the rumor mongers on various social media including Facebook, YouTube. They say, one rumor is more dangerous than a thousand atom bombs. In order to protect the independence and sovereignty of the country and to deal with the threat to humanity and ethnicity, the spreaders of rumors should be brought under strict punishment.

The demand was made at an emergency meeting organized by 'We are the children of freedom fighters' on Friday (August 2) in order to determine the program for observing the 'National Day of Mourning' and 'What to do in the ongoing violence across the country'.

Sajjad Hossain, president of the organization, presided over the meeting held at the Institute of Diploma Engineers (IDEB) auditorium in Kakrail, capital. Zobaida Haque Ajanta, Harun-Or Rashid Roni, Al-Amin Mridul, Syed Didarul Islam, Anisur Rahman Molla, Moniruzzaman Khokon and others addressed the meeting under the direction of Rasheduzzaman Shaheen, the general secretary of the organization.

Speakers said, We the children of freedom fighters are observing with deep concern, the ongoing so-called movement in the country in the recent past is spreading rumors of widespread vandalism, destruction and attempts to incite the young generation against the country. Such activities not only threaten the peace, order and stability of the country, but also question our independence and sovereignty.
