The flood water is coming down, the scars are floating

The situation in Comilla, which was hit by flash floods due to torrential rains coming down from India, is not normal yet. Eight days have passed since various areas of 14 upazilas of the district were flooded, but the water coming down from the upstream of India has not yet stopped.

However, the flow of upstream water has decreased slightly. In Comilla district, the level of Ban water has reduced slightly, but the suffering of people continues to increase.

Meanwhile, pictures of damaged roads are floating in the water. Almost the road has been damaged due to the intensity of water flowing over the road.

Due to the pressure of the water in the strong current, various places broke and the collapse happened due to the rolling over the roads. It can be seen that more or less roads have been damaged in each union. Vehicular movement is blocked due to landslides in some parts of the road.

Various upazilas affected by flood in the district have been visited, the flood water has started to decrease slowly. However, water is still entering the locality like a stream through the place where Gomti River's defense dam was breached in Burburia area of ​​Shonall Union of Burichong Upazila at around 12:15 on August 22. In Burichong and nearby Brahmanpara upazila, the flood situation is still in dire shape. Meanwhile, Gomti river water is flowing 67 cm below the flood line.

Comilla Water Development Board (PUBO) Executive Engineer Khan Md. Waliuzzaman confirmed this information and said that although the flow of water coming down from the upstream has decreased a little, it has not stopped completely. Gomti water is flowing under the Bipatseema.
