Economist Dr. Debapriya Bhattacharya said that the 12-member white paper committee formed under his leadership will not find any corruption, it will highlight the level of corruption.

He said this at a press conference after the first meeting of the White Paper Committee at the Planning Commission on Thursday (August 29).

Dr. Debapriya Bhattacharya said that the next meeting will be held on Tuesday (September 3). The work of this committee is basically an exercise to bring transparency in the economy. Our main task is to fix the foundations of the current economy.

He also said that it is not a committee to catch corruption, this committee will tell where corruption has taken place and give advice. The extent of corruption and why it happened will come. So that such incidents do not repeat.

The head of the white paper drafting committee said that our committee will cooperate in making new policies. Will act as future protection. Apart from this there will be some advice on LDC transition. What will be the 9th Five Year Plan will be discussed.

Dr. said that this committee will work on three main issues. Debapriya Bhattacharya said, this committee will work on three main issues. All data will be analyzed by the government and discussed with various stakeholders. If something is ready, it will be announced ahead of time.

In relation to catching corruption in the bank and financial sector. Debapriya Bhattacharya said, I will not evaluate the banking and financial sector reforms, but the private sector issues will be discussed. They will do the banking commission for this. We will say that suitable people can be placed in these institutions.

However, the head of the white paper drafting committee said that we will work on the issue of money laundering. We will talk about money laundering. It has been discussed. It is a complex process. Even if you find it, you have to file a case in that country. Later, the law of that country should be followed. And care should be taken to ensure that no one gets this opportunity. And those who have done this should be brought to justice.
