Four people were killed in separate road accidents in Banga, Faridpur. Two others were seriously injured in the incident. The injured were first admitted to Banga Hospital. Later, when the condition worsened, they were referred to Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical College Hospital in Faridpur.
On Saturday (May 11), separate road accidents took place at Kaidubi Sadardi and Hamerdi at around 8 am on the Faridpur-Barisal highway.
The victims of the Hamerdi accident are Kashem Shikder (40) and his son Morsalin (8) and his own brother Nazmul Shikder (37). Everyone's home is in Kovaldia village of Moksudpur upazila of Gopalganj.
On the other hand, school girl Srabanti Akhter (16) was killed in Kaidubi Sadardadi. She is the daughter of Shahadat Hossain of Khaminarbagh area of Bhangar.
Bhanga Highway Police Sub-Inspector (SI) Abdul Baki said that 4 people were killed in two separate road accidents on Faridpur-Barisal highway on Saturday morning. Two more people were injured in this incident.
It is known that the father, son and brother were going to Faridpur on a motorcycle from Bhanga at 11 o'clock on Saturday. On the way, a truck collided with a motorcycle at a place called Hamirdi of Bhanga Upazila. Son Morsalin was killed on the spot. At this time, his two brothers Kashem Shikder and Nazmul Shikder were seriously injured. Later their two brothers were rescued and admitted to Bhanga Upazila Health Complex. Later, when their condition deteriorated, they were taken to Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical College Hospital in Faridpur, where the doctor on duty declared their two brothers dead at 12 noon.
On the other hand, on the same Faridpur-Barisal road, Hanif Paribahan collided with a battery operated easy bike at a place called Kaidubi Sadardi of Bhanga upazila at 8 am. Three passengers were seriously injured in the collision. When the injured were shifted from Bhanga to Faridpur, a schoolgirl named Srabanti died while undergoing treatment there.
In this regard, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Bhanga Highway Police Station Khairul Anam said that legal measures are under process in two road accidents.
