A student named Jannatuzzaman Chanchal (16) was killed when he was hit by a truck on his way back to Nana's house with SSC pass sweets. The accident took place near Bhatpara DC Ecopark on Gangni-Kathuli road in Meherpur at around 4 pm on Monday (May 13).
Deceased Jannatuzzaman is the son of Rokibuzzaman of Chougacha Mollapara village of Chanchal Gangni upazila. He has passed the SSC exam from Thanthi School and College. His result was GPA-4.33.
Rakibuzzaman, father of the deceased, said that his son passed SSC yesterday. Today his grandparents went to Dhala village to give sweets.
Alif, a friend of the deceased Chanchal, said that we were coming from Nowpara to Gangni by riding an easy bike. Four passengers of the Easybike were thrown on the road when a speeding truck hit them from behind. He was taken to the Gangni Upazila Health Complex after being rescued and declared dead by the doctor on duty.
Sumaiya Akhtar, the doctor in charge of the emergency department of Gangni Upazila Health Complex, said that he died before being brought to the hospital. He died of massive bleeding due to a head injury.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Gangni Police Station. Tajul Islam confirmed this information and said that the police reached the hospital to recover the dead body. The killer truck fled immediately after the incident. But the truck is being searched.
