Language students will get the benefit of free e-books from Elsevier


Inauguration of Elsevier e-book access and download held at Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAKRBI). On Thursday (May 16) at 11 o'clock, the library branch of the university organized this opening ceremony in the conference room of the Vice-Chancellor's office.

It is known that Elsevier's e-book has been subscribed for 1 year by the university. The teachers and students of the university will get the benefit of 4 thousand 100 e-books under Elsevier's e-book access and download. University higher education and research committee coordinator professor Dr. Md. Under the chairmanship of Abu Hadi Noor Ali Khan and librarian (acting) agriculturist Md. Under the direction of Khairul Alam, the Vice-Chancellor of the University was present as the chief guest. Emdadul Haque Chowdhury. Professor Dr. Chadeja Akhtar said, the access of Elsevier's e-book in Bangladesh Agricultural University is a landmark event. It is our responsibility to ensure proper use and proper storage of this access in the future.

Abu Hadi Noor Ali Khan said that there are many hard copy books in the library. This decision has been taken due to the decrease in their use. We also intend to join the Springer Company in the future. Although we have taken the e-book access for one year for now. Later we will be bound to a bigger deal if we see the correct valuation of this access.

Vice-Chancellor Emdadul Haque Chowdhury said, lately soft copy is more important than hard copy. It is less time consuming and less laborious. But it is not necessary to buy things with money, proper maintenance should be done. Again we have to have the necessary books there and make proper use of the money spent. Focal points should be made in respective faculties, so that they download the books related to their faculties.
