Bir Bahadur Roy was a Nepali citizen in Bangladesh for 40 years. Finally, he returned to his country through India through Banglabandha immigration check post of Tentulia upazila of Panchagarh.

Tetulia administration handed over Bir Bahadur to his family on Thursday (May 23) afternoon. He is a resident of Gorakhe Bangina area of ​​Nepal. His father's name is late Adhir Chandra.

Present during the handover were: Tentulia Upazila Executive Officer Fazle Rabbi, Deputy Ambassador of Nepal Embassy Miss Lalita Silwal, Second Secretary Miss Yojana Bamjan and Secretary to Ambassador Riya Chhetri, Upazila Assistant Commissioner (Land) Mahbubul Hasan, SI and Incharge of Banglabandha Immigration Checkpost Amrit Adhikari. etc. An emotional moment ensued when Bir Bahadur Roy was handed over to his relatives. Bir Bahadur shed tears of joy on getting his relatives back. He expressed his gratitude to Bangladesh for returning him to his relatives.

It is known that Bir Bahadur Roy entered Bangladesh through India about 40 years ago. During this long period, he worked in various hotels and restaurants in Bangladesh. For almost 30 years, Alok Basak of Dupchanchia area of ​​Bogra was earning his living by working in the chatals. As no case or adverse information was found against Bir Bahadur Roy during his stay in Bangladesh, Nepali citizen Bir Bahadur Roy was granted permission to return home on May 16 from the Security Services Department of the Ministry of Home Affairs. Accordingly, after resolving the legal complications, he was handed over to his relatives through Banglabandha land port immigration check post this afternoon.

Bir Bahadur's nephew Rajan Roy said, We are very grateful to the people and administration of Bangladesh. They took great care of my uncle.

Upazila Nirbahi Officer Fazle Rabbi said, Bir Bahadur Roy is a Nepali citizen. He was sheltered by one of the Dupchanchias of Bogra along with various places in Bangladesh. As no case or adverse information was found during his stay, he was allowed to return home and was handed over to his relatives on Thursday afternoon with the full cooperation of the upazila administration.
