The Prime Minister will inaugurate four projects of DSCC today

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will inaugurate these development works from Bangabazar in the capital today Saturday (May 25) at 10 am. Yesterday Friday (May 24) Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) Public Relations Branch informed this information.

The projects are 'Bangbazar Nagar Wholesale Bipani Bitan', modernization of eight-lane 'Bir Muktijoddha Fazlul Haque Mani Sarani (Inner Circular Ring Road)' from Postgola Bridge to Rayerbazar Sluicegate, 'Nazrul Sarobar' at Dhanmondi Lake and 'Hossain Shaheed Sohrawardy Shishu Udyan' at Shahbagh.

Among them, the 10-storey Bangabazar Nagar wholesale market has five common stairs and six fire exit stairs with adequate fire fighting system. Each commercial block will have a separate entrance and exit. The building will have electrical mechanical rooms and four toilets per floor in each block. Besides, there will be 169 car and 109 motorcycle parking facilities on the ground floor of the building.

The Prime Minister will also inaugurate the construction of the freedom fighter Fazlul Haque Mani Sarani, a 5 km long eight-lane road from Postgola Bridge to Rayerbazar Sluicegate Gate. 974 crore 58 lakh rupees under this project, 10 km drain, 10 km footpath, three vehicular overpasses, three pedestrian overbridges, two km retaining walls. , three mosques, six bus bays and six passenger shelters will be constructed. In addition to reducing the pressure of buses, trucks and cargo vehicles in Dhaka city, traffic congestion will be resolved to a large extent.

Dhaka South City Corporation is constructing Nazrul Sarovar in Dhanmondi Lake at a cost of about Tk 51 crore from its own funds. In memory of national poet Kazi Nazrul Islam, the open entertainment stage named 'Nazrul Sarobar' has a ghatla, open auditorium, pedestrian walkway, public space, restaurant, seating area (benches), attractive lamps, adequate greenery and installation of sound system (sound system) besides Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur. Plaques with memorable moments and literary works of Rahman and Nazrul Islam will be installed.

Apart from this, the modernization work of Shahbagh Hossain Shaheed Suhrawardy Shishu Udyan will also be inaugurated today at a cost of about Tk 604 crore. (Zia Shishu Park at Shahbagh has been renamed Hossain Shaheed Suhrawardy Shishu Udyan). Established in 1979, the park previously had 11 rides. Through modernization, 15 new types of rides including Mega Disc, Super Air Race, Flying Carousel, Galleon, 12D Theater, Mine Coaster, Climbing Car, Super Happy Swing, Water Mania will be installed.

Besides, necessary facilities like toilets, square, restaurant, rest area, wide walking path, seating etc. have been added for the coming visitors.
