The driver was killed in a head-on collision between two trucks in Gobindganj, Gaibandha. The accident happened on Thursday (September 5) in Komarpur area of the upazila.
The name of the deceased truck driver is Sajib Mia (25). He is the son of deceased Raihan Mia of Daulatpur village of Sadullapur upazila of Gaibandha. Shahadat Mia, the helper of the truck, was injured. He is under treatment at Palashbari Upazila Health Complex of the district.
Confirming the matter, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Gobindganj Highway Police Station Shariful Islam said that a stone-laden truck was hit by another truck coming from the other side. Meanwhile, the driver of the stone-laden truck died on the spot.
He also said that with the help of Gobindganj and Palashbari fire service, the body of the driver was recovered from inside the truck. Later, the body was handed over to the family.
