A case of arson-robbery and murder of 24 people in Shaheen Chakladar's hotel

A case has been filed after 14 days on the charge of killing 24 people by vandalizing, looting and arson Hotel Jabir International owned by Awami League General Secretary Shaheen Chakladar of Jessore.

On Monday (August 19), Shaheen Chakladar's cousin Touhid Chakladar, the former chairman of Jessore Sadar Upazila Parishad, filed the case against 200 people at Kotwali Police Station as the plaintiff.

Shaheen Chakladar is a former Member of Parliament from Jessore-6 (Keshavpur) Constituency. Residents of Kazipara Old Kasba area of ​​the city.

According to the complaint, his cousin Shaheen Chakladar has his own five-star 16-storey Hotel Jaber Paradise Limited at Chitra Mor in the city. On August 5, around 3 pm, two hundred unidentified miscreants came to the hotel. At that time they forcibly entered inside and vandalized. 90 lakh rupees, 100 refrigerators, 100 smart TVs, two generators of 450 kilovolts, a transformer of 1000 kilovolts and several crores of rupees were looted in the cash vault of the hotel. Besides, they poured gun powder and petrol and set it on fire while there were several important documents there. 24 people including a foreign national were killed in that fire.

It was not possible to lodge a complaint at that time as the law and order situation was unstable after the incident. Therefore, it is mentioned in the statement that there is a delay in filing the case.

Jessore Kotwali Police Officer-in-Charge Abdur Razzak confirmed the case regarding the arson and death of Hotel Jab International.

Meanwhile, although this case has been filed, the process has not yet started to identify any accused and verify the truth of the incident, said investigating officer Kotwali Police Inspector Tariqul Islam.
