A case of murder of 24 people along with arson and robbery at Hotel Jaber in Jessore

A case has been registered at Jessore Kotwali police station in connection with the attack, vandalism, arson, murder of 24 people and looting of goods worth several crores of rupees in Jessore Hotel Jaber Paradise Limited.

After 14 days of this incident at Chitra intersection of the city on August 5, 18 Sadar Upazila Parishad Chairman Touhid Chakladar Fontu filed this case against two hundred anonymous people at Kotwali police station.

Tauhid Chakladar said in the case that his cousin Shaheen Chakladar has his own five-star 16-storey Hotel Jaber Paradise Limited at Chitra Mor in the city. On August 5, around 3 pm, two hundred unidentified miscreants came to the hotel.

At that time they forcibly entered inside and vandalized. 90 lakh rupees in the hotel's cash vault, one hundred refrigerators, one hundred smart TVs, two generators of 450 kilovolts, a transformer of one thousand kilovolts and goods worth several crores of rupees were looted.

Besides, they poured gun powder and petrol and set it on fire while there were several important documents there. 24 people including a foreign national were killed in that fire. The plaintiff mentioned that the case was delayed due to unstable law and order situation at that time.

Meanwhile, although this case has been filed, no accused has been identified and the investigation has not yet started to verify the truth of the incident, said the investigating officer, Police Inspector Tariqul Islam of Kotwali Police Station.
