Another case against Bahar-introduction in Comilla

A case has been filed against the former Member of Parliament of Comilla Sadar Constituency AKM Bahauddin Bahar and his elder daughter Tahsin Bahar, the former mayor of Comilla City Corporation, for ordering firing at the anti-discrimination student movement.

In the case, 125 named people and 150 other unknown people have been accused, including Bahar and Soshna. Most of the accused are supporters of Awami League and its organizations.

Earlier, a case was registered against 62 people including Bahar and Souchan at Comilla Sadar South Model Police Station in connection with the killing of Machum Miah (22) during the anti-discrimination student movement on Sunday night.

According to the complaint filed on Monday night, during the anti-discrimination student movement, on July 19 afternoon in Comilla, more than half a hundred students, including the plaintiffs, were coming to Kandirpar from the city's Dakshin Chartha (Taltala) area.

At that time, the main accused in the case, Bahar and his daughter Sochana, were attacked by other accused in the case with various weapons. During this time many people were injured by shooting, beating and cutting.

Among the defendants in the case are the former Chairman of Comilla Sadar Upazila Parishad Aminul Islam Tutul, former Upazila Vice Chairman Ahmed Niaz Pavel, Acting General Secretary of Metropolitan Awami League Atiq Ullah Khokon, Convener of Metropolitan Jubo League Abdullah Al Mahmud Sahid, President of Metropolitan Volunteer League Zahirul Islam Rintu, City Councilor Habibul Al Amin Sadi, Sarkar Mahmud Javed, Abdus Chattar, Syed Raihan Ahmed, Abul Hasan, Kauchara Begum Sumi, Former Councilor Shah Alam Khan, UP Chairman Hasan Rafi Raju, Mozammel Hossain, Metropolitan Chhatra League President Noor Mohammad.

OC Feroz Hossain said that almost all the accused in the case fled the area after the fall of the government However, the police operation to arrest them continues.
