A person named Kabir Bhuiyan (55) was killed in a clash between two groups of BNP in Faridpur's Nagarkanda over the organization of a road meeting of the Central Committee of Krishak Dal, General Secretary Shahidul Islam Babul. At least 20 people were injured.
On Wednesday (August 21) morning, clashes broke out between BNP central organizing secretary Shama Obaid and Krishak Dal central committee general secretary Shahidul Islam Babul supporters.
Kabir who was killed in the clash is the son of Abul Basar Bhuiya of Chagaldi village of Bhuiya upazila. It is also known that he was a supporter of BNP leader Shahidul Islam Babul.
The injured are being treated at various hospitals including Faridpur Medical College Hospital.
Assistant Superintendent of Police (Nagarkanda Circle) of Faridpur. Asaduzzaman Shakeel said, additional police are deployed in the field to bring the situation under control. The situation is now normal.
