Crown Prince ordered to increase the salary of imams and muezzins in Dubai


UAE Crown Prince Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed of Dubai has ordered an increase in the salaries of mosque imams and muezzins.

Imams and muezzins who work under Dubai's Department of Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities will receive a salary increase due to the Crown Prince's directive.

The role of imams and muezzins in society has been further recognized by increasing their salaries.

The worshipers pray under the leadership of the imam in the mosque. On the other hand, muezzins call people to come to prayer.

Imams have a special status in the society. They themselves acquire knowledge about Islam. Apart from teaching prayers, they also spread them among the people.

There are numerous mosques all over the Muslim-majority UAE. Dubai is no exception. Thousands of people pray in the mosques of Dubai every day.
