Dolphins Superstar Tyreek Hill Dealing with Concerning New Injury: Reports

The Miami Dolphins have one of the most dynamic offenses in the NFL, and a big part of that is because they have the No. 1 ranked player in the league, wide receiver Tyreek Hill. Hill was recently voted as the No. 1 player by his peers, and it’s hard not to argue against his immaculate skill.

Hill has gone over 1,700 yards in the two seasons he has played with the Dolphins, and he led the league in 2023 with 1,799 yards and 13 touchdowns in the 2023 season. Despite consistently being durable, Hill was shown at practice with a brace on his right hand.

According to NFL Network’s Cameron Wolfe, “Dolphins WR Tyreek Hill is latest player dealing with minor injury. He wore a removable brace on right hand during practice today. Hill was in uniform/helmet but I didn’t spot him catch a pass. Mike McDaniel has noted caution with many players to get/keep them healthy for season.”

Per multiple reports like Wolfe’s and others, Hill was seen with a brace on his right hand, and he was also not catching passes either. Though the above X post states the injury is minor, losing Hill for any part of the season would be tough for the Dolphins offense.

In 2023, Hill was attempting to surpass the NFL record for the most receiving yards in a season. The record was set in 2012 by former Detroit Lions great Calvin Johnson, who secured 1,964 yards.

Despite Hill wanting to surpass this target, he was held out of one game due to a pedal ankle sprain. Though he would have had to secure around 200+ yards in that game to break the record, he did not get the chance to surpass it.

Hill is just one of the talented receivers the Dolphins have on their roster. He is accompanied by Jaylen Waddle, an upcoming fourth-year receiver who has gone over 1,000 yards in each of his first three seasons in the NFL.

The Dolphins also signed former three-time Pro Bowl wideout Odell Beckham Jr. to a one-year deal, and he should add another layer of explosiveness to an already potent offense.

Hill is dealing with a minor injury right now, and Beckham has yet to practice due to an injury of his own. Though the Dolphins have plenty of depth at the receiver position, their stars being hurt might impact the start of the regular season.

The Dolphins are set to take on the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sep. 8 to open the 2024 NFL season.
