Eid-ul-Azha is being celebrated in 11 villages in Lakshmipur

Eid-ul-Azha is being celebrated today in 11 villages in Laxmipur along with Saudi Arabia. Eid prayers were held in 4 mosques in Ramganj upazila and one in Raipur upazila. However, Imams and Muslims said that they are celebrating Eid according to the Hanafi Madhab, not in accordance with Saudi Arabia.

On Sunday (June 16) at quarter past 7 in the morning Eid Jamat was held at Khankay Madania Kasemia Eidgah at Park Avenue Jahangir Tower in Ramganj Upazila. Maulana Ruhul Amin presided over it.

Talking to the locals, it is known that thousands of people from Noagaon, Jaipura, Bigha, Barogharia, Hotatia, Sarashai, Kanchanpur and Kalakopa of Raipur upazila of Ramganj upazila of the district celebrated Eid on this day. They separately organized Eid prayers in mosques of their respective areas. In addition, at 9:30 in the morning, the worshipers offered prayers at East Bigha Central Jame Masjid, West Noagaon Jame Masjid.

As followers of Maulana Ishaq (RA), the people of these areas have been celebrating all religious festivals including Eid for more than 50 years in line with the holy land of Makkah and Madinah.
