The price of ginger increased by Tk 120 per kg overnight


The price of ginger has increased by Tk 120 per kg overnight in Hili, Dinajpur on the pretext of import ban. Just before Eid, the price of ginger is increased by angry common buyers.

On Sunday (June 16) morning, it was found that the ginger that was sold last Friday was sold at the rate of 200 to 220 kg. It is being sold in the retail market at the rate of Tk 320 per kg from Saturday morning in one night.

Traders say that the port's import activities are closed during the Eid holidays. Along with that, there is demand for ginger in the market. Due to which the price has increased.

Faridul Islam, who came to buy spices at Heli Bazar, said, 'The country has become full of mugs. Ginger of 120 rupees has become 320 rupees at once. How can poor people like us live if the prices increase so much overnight?'

Ginger trader Ferdous Rahman said, 'Last Friday, I sold different types of ginger at Tk 200 to Tk 220 per kg. The price has increased and now it is wholesale
Selling at 300 taka per kg. Retailers are selling it at Tk 320 per kg. The price of ginger has increased due to stoppage of imports and high demand.'
