The Chamber Court of Appellate Division has suspended the bail of BNP leader Jahangir Alam till March 27 in the case of making a fake bail order by forging the judge's signature.
Monday (March 25) Chamber Justice of the Appellate Division. The court of Ashfaqul Islam gave this order.
Advocate Khurshid Alam Khan represented the ACC in the court. Deputy Attorney General Sarwar Hossain Bappi appeared for the state.
Khursheed Alam Khan said that several years ago, the mayor of Dupchanchia municipality, BNP leader Jahangir Alam had forged the signature of the High Court judge and created a fake order. ACC investigation also proved his fraud. For this reason, I applied for suspension of his bail. The court adjourned his bail till March 27.
When Jahangir Alam surrendered in the ACC case on March 7, Bogra Senior District and Sessions Judge AKM Mozammel Haque Chowdhury denied bail and ordered him to be sent to jail. A High Court bench granted bail to Jahangir Alam on March 21.
According to court sources, several years ago, a case was filed against three accused in the ACC on corruption charges. Accused in connivance with each other fraudulently created fake order of High Court criminal miss case. After that, it was submitted to the Special Judge Court of Bogra and the proceedings of the case were suspended for 10 years. Later, a criminal case was filed against those accused in the light of the judgment of the High Court on March 16, 2022 in the writ petition case number.
On the orders of the Acting Registrar General, Superintendent of Writ Branch of the High Court, Abdul Momen filed a case against Mayor Jahangir Alam and three accused in the Senior Special Judge Court of Bogra.
