Golam Rabbani is the former councilor of ward number 4 of Khulna City Corporation.
Golam Rabbani, former councilor of Khulna City Corporation and vice-president of Mahanagar Swachhasevak League, was killed by terrorists in the Seagull Point area of Cox's Bazar Seashore.
Gholam Rabbani was shot dead by unidentified gunmen at Seagull Point on Thursday (January 9) around 8 pm.
Rabbani is a resident of Daulatpur in Khulna; Age approximately 55 years. His father's name is Md. Ghulam Akbar He is the former councilor of ward number 4 of Khulna City Corporation. After August 5, the public representatives of the city corporation were removed from their duties. Rabbani along with others also dropped out.
According to the information given by Ilyas Khan, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Cox's Bazar Sadar Model Police Station, several teams of police have launched an operation to nab the killers immediately after the incident. However, the police have not yet got any idea about the reason for the murder.
An autorickshaw driver named Abdus Salam rescued Rabbani and took him to the hospital.
“I heard a gunshot near the wooden bridge in front of Seagull Point,” he told RisingBD.com. But I did not see who killed him. Then I saw a person falling down.
“Then I immediately rescued the injured person and brought him to the hospital in my own auto-rickshaw,” said Salam.
