McGarg and Short are joining the Australian team

Jack Fraser-McGarg played well in IPL. He was the third highest run scorer for Delhi Capitals. He scored 330 in 9 matches at an average of 36.66 and a strike rate of 234.04.

On the other hand, batting all-rounder Matthew Short played in 9 of Australia's last 14 T20 matches. He inaugurated five of them. He also played well in the Big Bash. Became the best of the tournament back to back.

However, neither of these two got a place in Australia's T20 World Cup team. However, Cricket Australia is going to evaluate their performance. Taito plans to fly McGarg and Short to the US-West Indies as travel reserves to keep them with the team.

Australia announced a 15-member World Cup squad on May 1. However, there was no travel reserve in that team. Using that opportunity, Australia's chief selector George Bailey is planning to send McGurg and Short to the World Cup as travel reserves.

Australia cricket team will go to West Indies to participate in the World Cup on Thursday (May 23, 2024).

Australia is in 'B' group in this World Cup. Where their opponents are Oman, England, Namibia and Scotland. Their World Cup mission begins with a match against Oman in Bridgetown on June 5. They will fight against the current champions England in the second match at the same venue on June 08. Their third match in the North Sound on June 12 is against Namibia. And on June 16, they will fight against Scotland in the last match of the group stage.
