There was a news in 2017 in the newspaper called 'Mukt Balaka'. The day after the news went against Haroon, the house of Alamgir Hossain, the editor of the newspaper, was surrounded by 200 policemen at night. He was not at home that day. His house was later extensively searched and ransacked. After that he could not return to Gazipur for 3 months.

Alamgir Hossain, the editor of 'Mukt Balaka' said, “I published a news which was not liked by then SP Harun. On Friday night, the day after the news broke, 200 policemen surrounded my house to intimidate and pick me up. They did not find me that day as I had gone to Bagerhat for family work. But vandalized the house and persuaded me to come to Gazipur. Later, because of Harun, I ran away for three months.'

Not only journalists, opposition party leaders, government party leaders, businessmen and children of the rich were Haroon's targets. Basically, when Harun was the SP of Gazipur, he used to do all his misdeeds with DB. At that time he formed 13-14 teams of DB. At that time DB was the name of terror in Gazipur. Police stations were only in name. All activities were run by Haroon's DB team.

Locals and victims say multiple teams of DBs descend every night on the orders of SP Haroon to target the targeted person. Yaba, weapons and various drugs were stored in the car. Innocent businessmen, political leaders, public representatives and children of rich families were hanged with those things. Harun led the planning during the day, most of the operations were done at night.

During SP Harun's four-year reign in Gazipur, drugs, prostitution in residential hotels and gambling flourished. And he grabbed crores of rupees from these illegal traders. Before Harun came, there was no body business in any hotel in Gazipur. Hundreds of residential body trade shelters were built during his tenure. Some officers of the then DB and Sadar Police Station used to withdraw money from these Astanas and gambling houses as cashiers. Many of whom are still in Gazipur.

Haroon was behind the filing of the case against the first mayor of Gazipur City Corporation Professor MA Mannan and Tarek Rahman. Hundreds of cases have been filed against BNP leaders and activists from the top of the district to the Trinamool. Leaders and activists of 20 party alliances, including BNP, have left their homes due to the fear of lawsuits and attacks. He was behind the sacking of Mayor Professor MA Mannan on separate charges of setting fire to two vehicles on false charges.

After the killing of Jubo League leader Rafiq of Kaliakair, the surrounding areas including Chandra, Pallividyut, Harinhati of Kaliakair upazila became almost desolate due to the rise of DB. Hundreds of people were detained by the DB and released with various sums of money. There have also been cases of one person being arrested two to three times. At that time, Harun was working with the top terrorist Muchi Jasim. Later, when Harun left the post of Gazipur SP, Muchi Jasim was killed in a gunfight.

Safipur market trader Motaleb said, 'Harun was taken by DB and tortured for four days. Removed five fingernails from my hand. Later, he said that he would be released if he paid one crore rupees. I could not afford to pay so much. However, unable to bear the torture, I paid six lakh taka in cash and six lakh taka in installments. The Rot cement trader of our market, Aziz Sahib, was picked up by DB and collected half a crore of rupees.'

Amjad Hossain, a businessman from Madhavpur area, said, 'Harun has harassed us even though I am the son of a freedom fighter. But I was not afraid, I did not give any money. I protested without ignoring Harun's intervention in the matter of land.
