Two people were killed when a private car rammed into the back of a curvadvan in Tangail. Two more people were injured in this accident.
The accident took place on Sunday (March 31) in Ashekpur bypass area of Dhaka-Tangail highway.
The deceased are Ilyas Hossain (35), son of Abdul Mannan of Sonakhali village of Barguna Sadar, a private car driver, and Shah Alam (45), son of deceased Nur Mohammad of Sirajganj, a passenger.
The injured are Anishur Rahman (55), son of deceased Daruzzaman Talukdar of Brahmanbaria, Raiganj, Sirajganj, Mahfuzur Rahman Alal (53), son of deceased Matiyar Rahman of Sirajganj Sadar.
In this regard, Mir Sajedul Rahman, in-charge of Elenga Highway Police Outpost, said that the driver of the private car was going towards North Bengal with three passengers in the morning. On reaching Ashekpur area, the private car hit the back of the curved van.
The front of the private car was crushed. The driver died on the spot. Three injured persons were sent to Tangail General Hospital where one died while undergoing treatment. The body is at the mortuary of the General Hospital. The remaining two injured are undergoing treatment at the hospital.
