A Chhatra League leader has been accused of seriously injuring twin sisters by beating them with a hammer over a trivial incident at Chatmohar in Pabna.

On Friday (May 17), two sisters were beaten up in Uthuli Khamarpara village of the upazila around 11:30 am.

The two injured sisters are Mim (20) and Lam (20). They are the daughter of Rezaul Karim Riju of Araji Uthuli Khamarpara Mohalla of Paur Sadar.
And the accused Chhatra League leader Alif Yaman Payal (22), son of Rafiqul Islam of the same area. He is the president of Chatmohar Municipal Chhatra League.

Rezaul Karim, the father of the two injured sisters, filed a written complaint at the police station.

According to the written complaint, Chhatra League leader Payal was cutting the branches of the Kadam tree near the house at the time of the incident. Meanwhile, Rezaul Karim's daughter Lam went to him and told him not to damage their banana trees while cutting them. At one stage of the argument, Chhatra League leader Payal beat Lam with a hammer and seriously injured him. When his twin sister Mim came forward, she was also beaten with a hammer and injured. Payal and her parents beat the twin sisters severely.

After hearing the screams, the family members of the two sisters went and rescued them with the help of local people and admitted them to the Chatmohar Upazila Health Complex.

Rezaul Karim Riju, the father of the two injured sisters, filed a written complaint at the Chatmohar police station.

Alif Yaman Payal, president of Chatmohar Municipal Chhatra League, accused in this regard, said that two sisters had a fight with my mother. I went there to prevent it. I didn't kill them. Unnecessary allegations have been made against me to frame me.

Humayun Kabir Himu, president of Chatmohar Upazila Chhatra League, said, I have heard the matter. This has been a very reprehensible act. Terrorist activities have no place in Chhatra League. If he is found guilty, I demand punishment against him. Since the BCL committee is under the control of the district BCL. That is why the District Chhatra League will look into this matter.

In this regard, Chatmohar Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Salim Reza said, I have received a complaint. Further legal action will be taken subject to investigation.

When the attention was drawn to this matter, District Chhatra League President Mizanur Rahman Sabuj said, “I do not know the matter yet.” If such an event occurs; If the truth is found after investigation, organizational action will be taken against him.
