A fake NSI officer was arrested by the police from the polling station during the upazila elections in Maheshkhali, Cox's Bazar.
He was arrested from Maijpara Forkania Madrasa of Upazila on Wednesday (May 8) noon.
Arrested Md. Anach (17) Moheshkhali of Matarbari Union of Hangsmiaji Para. Son of Neshar Uddin. He is a former student of Majidiya Dakhil Madrasah in that area.
Cox's Bazar Additional Superintendent of Police confirmed the matter. Rafiqul Islam said that during the upazila elections, a man identified as NSI was questioned if his movements seemed suspicious. Later it was found that he is not a real NSI officer. He was detained at Maheshkhali No. 8 Maijpara Forkaniya Madrasa Center. He is currently detained there. Legal action in this regard is under process.
