Heaven is guaranteed if Ziaur Rahman's name is mentioned daily: BNP leader – Bangladesh Diplomat

BNP Comilla South District Joint Convenor and Chauddagram Upazila Branch President Kamrul Huda is at the center of criticism for making a controversial comment. On Wednesday (January 1) at the Chhatra Dal's founding anniversary ceremony at the central Eidga ground in Chauddagram Upazila, he said, “Heaven is assured if you take the name of martyred President Ziaur Rahman every day.” Because he didn't mess with the people.”

Kamrul Huda's statement has already gone viral on social media including Facebook. His comments have been criticized. Several local leaders said on condition of anonymity, “Can any Muslim make such a statement? This is highly unusual.”

Criticizing the Awami League and the Sheikh family, Kamrul Huda said, “This family along with Sheikh Salim and Sheikh Helal have destroyed the country through looting. No one in the Sheikh family is a freedom fighter. They are misleading the people in the name of the spirit of the liberation war.”

Referring to the local leaders and activists of Jamaat, he said, “Once they got a taste of power by relying on BNP. Now their true position is clear to the public.”

Kamrul Huda ordered the leaders and workers of the party to keep 200 small sticks ready in every center for the upcoming elections.

Kamrul Huda ignored the request to pause during Zohar azan as there was a mosque next to the event. He ordered the muezzin to give the call to prayer orally rather than through the microphone, which angered the locals.

For his statement, Kamrul Huda said, “Ziaur Rahman planted neem trees in Makkah for the benefit of Hajids.” That's why if you take his name you can go to heaven, there is nothing wrong with that.”

Comilla South District BNP convener Haji Amin ur Rashid Yashin said, “I have not heard this statement yet. I will comment after watching the video.”
