Dr. Hasan Mahmood said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Bangladesh-India relations have reached a new height and Bangladesh and India have many opportunities as the closest neighbors.

We have to work together for the further development of both countries, including the development of communication infrastructure to increase people-to-people connection, said the foreign minister.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, who is visiting New Delhi, met Sri Lankan President Ranil Wickremesinghe.

On this afternoon, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina was met at ITC Maurya Hotel by Rajya Sabha member of Indian Parliament and Congress Parliamentary Party Chairperson Sonia Gandhi, her son and Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi and daughter Indian National Congress Party General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi. The Prime Minister had a private discussion with the Gandhi family in a cordial atmosphere.

Earlier, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, who was invited as one of the top world leaders, arrived in Delhi on Saturday afternoon at the swearing-in ceremony of Narendra Modi, the leader of the NDA alliance, which won 293 of the 543 seats in the 18th election of the lower house of the Indian Parliament, Lok Sabha.
