Rajshahi's 19 upazila chairman's oath taking

The newly elected chairmen of 19 Upazila Parishads of Rajshahi Division have taken oath. Besides, the vice chairmen and female vice chairmen of these upazilas also took oath. Tuesday (June 11) Divisional Commissioner Dr. Dewan Muhammad Humayun Kabir recited the oath to them.

The office of the Divisional Commissioner organized the swearing-in ceremony at the Rajshahi District Shilpakala Academy Auditorium. Rajshahi Division Director of Local Government Parvez Raihan presided over the event. In the event, the Divisional Commissioner urged these public representatives to work with integrity.

In the second phase of the sixth upazila election, the election was held in these 19 upazilas of Rajshahi division on May 21. The upazilas are Puthia, Bagmara and Durgapur of Rajshahi; Joypurhat Sadar and Panchbibi of Joypurhat; Dupchanchachia, Adamdighi and Kahalu of Bogra; Shibganj of Chapainawabganj; Sapahar, Porsha and Niamatpur in Naogaon; Lalpur and Bagatipara of Natore; Ullapara and Tarash of Sirajganj and Chatmohar, Bhangura and Faridpur upazilas of Pabna.
