The nose bone is bent, when the operation is needed?

Many people think that the bones of the nose are bent when they have a headache or a cold. But these problems can also occur due to other diseases. When will you understand that the nose bone is bent, what physical problems occur when the nose bone is bent – Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University's assistant professor of nose, ear and throat surgery Dr. Md. Nipun Hasanul Haq.

He said, 'There are various reasons for the nose bone to be curved. A person can be born with crooked nasal bones or if someone suffers an injury to the nose after birth, the nasal bones can be crooked for no reason. There is nothing to worry about if the nasal bones are crooked. Many people are born with crooked nasal bones. This curve is not a problem. But if the bones grow, it's a problem.'

How to understand that the nose bone is growing

* Severe headache occurs.
* It is difficult to breathe through the nose.
* Frequent colds.

To do: Dr. Md. Hasanul Haque Nipun said, if the symptoms of nasal bone bending appear, the specialist doctor should be referred first. It should be seen whether these problems are due to the bending of the nasal bones or for other reasons. Then the experiment should be done. And the medicine should be taken according to the doctor's advice.
This doctor also said, 'There are different types of nasal bone bending. If it is mild then nothing needs to be done. Those with more curves require treatment, while others do not. For many people, if the inner nasal partition is crooked, this is a problem, and if the entire outer nose is crooked by accident or for some reason, surgery may be necessary.'

'Many people in our country have a wrong idea about these things. Many people say that the small bones that can be seen in the nose are silt in the nose. Actually it is not polypus. There are three types of bones in our nose which we call terminates. What many people call the nose bone increased. It is working. If we do not have hot air from outside the body remains at a certain temperature. This part works so that the hot air does not enter directly. The body takes air as appropriate. Many people call this part the nose cooler. There is no problem if these bones grow. These terminals can be reduced in size through some procedures. It is not a polypus. Dr. added. Md. Nipun Hasanul Haq.

Even if the bone grows in the nose, many people think that there is a polypus. But there is a big difference between polypus and nasal bone growth.

Dr. about the difference between polypus and nasal bone growth. Md. Hasanul Haque Nipun said 'if any of us has a long-term cold or allergy-related problem. As a result, if cold accumulates inside our nose, polypus is formed. It can go in front of the nose or behind the throat. A polypus and a bent or enlarged bone are different things.'

Damage caused by wrong treatment: Dr. Md. Hasanul Haque Nipun said, “When the nasal terminal increases, many people use acid to shorten the nasal bones with the doctor's advice.” In that case, the nose becomes more complicated. One flesh of the nose sticks to the other. In many cases, if there is too much acid in the nasal septum, the nose can become clogged.

When surgery is needed: Dr. Md. Hasanul Haque Nipun said 'If we see that the problem is mild then we give medicine and counseling to the patient. And if the patient is always suffering from headaches and chills, I suggest surgery. The excess water needed by our eyes goes through the eye canal to the nose and is absorbed. If this process is stopped due to nasal bone then surgery is recommended. And in case of children, i.e. below 18 years of age, we do not recommend surgery if the nasal bones are crooked. We ask them to wait until they are of age. '
