The old woman's body is hanging from the mango tree near the house, no one knows the cause of death

Police recovered the body of an old woman hanging from a tree in Bandarban's Lama. On Tuesday (June 11) at 10 pm, family members informed the police after seeing the body hanging from a tree in Kalingabil village of Lama municipality. At 11:00 pm, the Lama police arrived at the spot and removed the body from the tree.

The deceased Nurul Islam (55) is the son of deceased Mofizur Rahman of Kalingabil village. It is not known what caused the suicide. The family called the incident a suicide, but the people of the area requested to investigate whether it was a murder.

The deceased's son Md Rafiq and younger brother Tajul Islam said that his wife Fatema Begum first saw Nurul Islam hanging from a mango tree on the north side of the house at 9:45 p.m. He told his son Md. Rafiq. When he told his uncle and relatives, they informed the Lama police station.

They also said that the reason for hanging the noose is not known. The strange thing is that the branch on which he hangs the noose is so low that if Nurul Islam stands, the branch will be along the chest. Both legs of the body are stuck to the ground. Locals requested to investigate whether the matter was murder or suicide. Nurul Islam is the father of 4 boys and 1 girl.

Lama police sub-inspector Sajjad Hossain said, as soon as I heard, I arrived at the scene along with policemen. The body was taken down from the tree and the preliminary examination was done. The body will be taken to the police station at night. The body will be sent to Bandarban District Headquarters Hospital for post-mortem tomorrow morning.
