The students chanted slogans like 'Our Martyrs/ Our Strength', 'Abu Saeed Mochad/ The war is not over', '24 Our Faith'.
The slogan of the procession demanded the trial of former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. During his tenure, there were rumors of murder, disappearance and murder.
Students of several institutions including Tejgaon College, Mohammadpur Government College, Birshrestha Munsi Abdur Rauf School and College, Noorjahan Begum High School, Government Commerce College, United International University, Dhaka Imperial College, Atish Dipankar University, Khilgaon Maqjalul Uloom Madrasa participated in the Martyr March.
The procession will start from University's Raju Bhaskar and pass through Neelkhet-ScienceLab-Kalabagan-Parliament Bhawan-Farmgate-Carwan Bazar-Shahbagh-Raju Bhaskar and end with a rally at Shaheed Minar.
The anti-discrimination student movement, which began with the demand for quota reforms in government jobs, resulted in widespread violence and excessive use of force by the state forces, which ultimately led to the fall of the government. On August 5, Sheikh Hasina's government fell in the face of the mass movement of the students. He fled to India.
On August 8, the interim government was sworn in with a commitment to form an anti-discrimination Bangladesh, replacing two student leaders who had been at the forefront of the anti-discrimination movement.
