Torch procession of job age 35 year olds

People in their twenties took out a torch march to protest against false cases and demand notification that the age limit for applying for jobs is 35 years.

On Tuesday (May 14) night, the torch procession started from the foot of the Raju sculpture of Dhaka University. The procession circumambulated the Independence Museum, Doel Square and Shahid Minar and ended at the Raju Sculpture.

At this time, they chanted slogans like 'No more delay, now I want notification', 'Why is my brother's case, the administration wants answers', 'Break the chain of thirty, crush it'.

At the end of the torch march, the age limit for applying for jobs is 35. Convener of Parliament Shariful Haque Shubo said that the age limit for all types of jobs existing in the country since 1991 is 35 years. It takes 27 to 28 years for a student to complete graduation and post graduation due to public/private and national university systems. After completing post graduation they cannot participate in the competition even if they apply for jobs. Where is the price of his certificate?

He also said that 33 years ago, the age limit at all levels in Bangladesh was raised from 27 to 30 years. But, then the average life expectancy was 57 years. Currently, the average life expectancy of people in the country has increased to 73 years. Hence, it is reasonable to keep the age limit of 35 for job application. If our demands are not accepted, we will be active through innovative protest programs.

Earlier, on May 11, Shahbagh police stopped the march from the organization's rally to Gana Bhavan. 15 protesters were arrested. A rally was called at Raju Bhaskar to demand their release. Later 12 people were released on bail.
